Man accused in hit-and-run attack on California officer
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — California authorities have arrested 20-year-old man on suspicion of hitting a police officer with his car and then fleeing the scene.
The injured San Jose police officer was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries after being struck during a traffic stop Oct. 29.
Investigators say after being pulled over for reckless driving, the suspect sped away, striking the officer. He evaded capture during a chase through the city but officers managed to get a partial license plate number.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports Arturo Huerta-Cabrera was tracked down and arrested Friday. It wasn’t immediately known if he has an attorney.
