CHELMSFORD, Mass. (AP) _ Brooks Automation Inc. (BRKS) on Monday reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $22.6 million.

On a per-share basis, the Chelmsford, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of 32 cents. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and stock option expense, came to 52 cents per share.

The supplier to semiconductor manufacturers posted revenue of $223.5 million in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $218.3 million.

For the current quarter ending in September, Brooks expects its per-share earnings to range from 35 cents to 43 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $203 million to $213 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.

Brooks shares have risen 32 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $31.55, an increase of 40 percent in the last 12 months.
