Man involved in Brookline domestic situation eludes police

A man who reportedly assaulted a woman in Brookline on Sunday fled from Pittsburgh police and SWAT team members and negotiators, according to investigators.

Authorities were called to a Chelton Avenue home at about 5:35 p.m. for a domestic situation and found the woman who reported being injured, according to a news release. The man allegedly fled back into the home and police found a few hours later that he had apparently left the scene.

The suspect, who has not been identified by police, remains at large. The scene was cleared at about 8 p.m.
