Ice delays schools and big snow storm forecast for Spokane
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Washington State University and some local school districts are delaying the start of classes as a result of icy conditions.
Washington State cancelled all classes before 10 a.m. Tuesday on its Pullman campus.
Many school districts in Eastern Washington also delayed the start of school Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service says a snowstorm moving in on Wednesday could drop up to five inches of snow in Spokane by Thursday.
Areas throughout eastern Washington are expecting similar snowfall totals.
The Weather Service says Spokane has received 26.9 inches of snow this February, which makes it the third snowiest February on record.
Spokane would need to receive an additional 12 inches by the end of the month to set a new record.
