Richter, WNB Financial allow WAPS students, teachers to dream

February 6, 2019

Last month, WNB Financial president Jack Richter stopped by the Winona Middle School Media Center along with Shelley Milek, Foundation for WAPS executive director, to visit with Technology Integrationist & Media specialist, Jen Snook, about the new Virtual Technology equipment for middle school students.

The VR equipment was made possible by a Foundation Dare to Dream Grant written by Snook and awarded by the Foundation for Winona Area Public Schools. Snook is getting all the software and equipped ready to implement in middle school classrooms very soon.

WNB Financial, formerly Winona National Bank, has been a Foundation fundraiser event lead sponsor every year since the start of the fundraiser in 2011.

“The Foundation is so grateful to have the continuous stupport of Jack Richter and WNB Financial,” Milek said. “With their continuous support, we are able to enrich and enhance the education of our students and keep our schools strong.”

When asked about their ongoing lead sponsor support for Foundation fundraising events, Richter said: “WNB Financial is happy and grateful to serve as a lead sponsor for the Foundation for Winona Area Public Schools fundraising events to support academics, athletics, arts and activities for WAPS students. At WNB Financial, we know that strong schools create strong communities and we heartily support the Foundation’s efforts to strengthen opportunities for students and classrooms in the Winona Area Public Schools.”

The Foundation wishes to publicly thank Richter and WNB Financial for their perennial support. Richter thoroughly enjoyed trying out the VR equipment and appreciates its many curriculum applications to excite and support student learning.
