MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Tipper Gore assumed the duties of pastry chef, filling cream puffs during a visit to the Wisconsin State Fair.

Wisconsin Attorney General James Doyle introduced Gore as ``the next first lady'' during her visit to the fairgrounds in suburban West Allis.

``Y'all have a great, beautiful day, and I appreciate your warm welcome,'' she said Thursday before her stint in the 38-degree pastry room.

Gore seized the opportunity to promote a Patient Bill of Rights that would ensure medical coverage for depression and other mental illnesses.
