Creighton man dies in two-vehicle accident
PLAINVIEW — One person was killed and several others injured following a head-on crash south of here late Tuesday afternoon.
Pierce County Sheriff Rick Eberhardt said Wednesday morning that the names of those involved will be released later, pending notification of relatives.
According to a news release issued Wednesday, Pierce County dispatch received a call about a two-vehicle accident on Highway 13 about two miles south of Plainview about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday.
An 80-year-old Creighton man was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff said.
There were two people in the other vehicle that were trapped. They were helped by Plainview Fire & Rescue, according to the release.
The first person was transported to a hospital by a medical helicopter and the other person was transported by Plainview Rescue, the release indicated.
Besides the sheriff’s office, the Plainview Police Department, Pierce Fire & Rescue and Plainview Fire & Rescue responded. The accident remains under investigation.
