Minor bus collision sends GHS students to emergency room
GREENWICH — A bus-full of Greenwich High School students was taken to Greenwich Hospital after their bus collided with another vehicle on East Putnam Avenue on Friday morning on the way to school, police said.
“It was minor contact,” said police Lt. David Nemecek. “As a precaution, they sent the kids over to the emergency room at Greenwich Hospital. No reported injuries.”
The collision took place on East Putnam Avenue near Overlook Drive at 8:12 a.m. The vehicles struck broadside as one was turning, according to police.
The students all returned to school later in the day, school officials confirmed Friday afternoon. They declined to say how many students were involved. All of the parents of the affected students were notified via email, school officials said.
