Caged Tiger Bites Off Woman’s Arm
KIOWA, Colo. (AP) _ A tiger attacked a 28-year-old woman, biting off her right arm as she showed the caged animal to visitors at a wildlife refuge where she was a volunteer.
The woman, whose name was not released, was airlifted to Swedish Medical Center in Englewood after the attack Saturday. She was in serious condition, hospital spokeswoman Sara Spaulding said.
``She stuck her hand into the cage and within two quick seconds, her arm was broken off,″ said Sean Moffitt, another volunteer at the Prairie Wind Animal Refuge.
The woman had been a volunteer at the 40-acre refuge in rural Elbert County for two years.
