NORFOLK - The Northeast Nebraska Suicide Prevention Coalition will be holding a workshop Thursday with different seminars about suicide.
Some of the seminars will include addressing suicide at campus, post prevention, safe messaging, and local resources.
Co-Chair Andres Sandoval says another topic they will hit on is stigma.
“If we go to a metropolitan area more than likely suicides are going to be reported, and people are going to find the help they need. In rural communities suicide is a topic that is kept in the dark. It’s effecting the people that struggle with suicidal thoughts because they feel that they can’t talk about them openly so they can’t find help.”
The workshop will take place Thursday from 8:30 A.M. to 4 P.M. at the Lifelong Learning Center on the campus of Northeast Community College.
