Shultz Thanks Italy for Efforts on Drugs and Terrorism
UNITED NATIONS (AP) _ George P. Shultz, the U.S. secretary of state, has expressed his appreciation to Italy for its efforts to control narcotics and terrorism, a spokesman said.
State Department spokesman Joe Reap said Shultz met with Giulio Andreotti, the Italian foreign minister for 45 minutes Tuesday. Both men are in New York for the U.N. General Assembly session.
Reap said the ministers reviewed trade matters, arms control and their contacts with Soviet leaders. He said Shultz expressed the United States’ appreciation for Italy’s efforts to control terrorism and narcotics.
