The real estate market in Houston continues to be strong.
“There is a high demand for housing in Houston, particularly in areas such as northeast Houston, where both resale and new built homes are in high demand. Buyers are also out and about shopping and they know what they want,” said Nikol Markert, Realtor, Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty.
Therefore, for those putting their homes on the market, it is important to make any needed repairs, Also, mortgage rates are at historical lows, with the average 30-year fixed rate being 4.5 percent. So, pricing your home strategically is also important.
Markert’s focus area is mainly northeast Houston, particularly Humble, Atascocita, Kingwood, and Summerwood areas, concentrating on the corridor along West Lake Houston Parkway.
Markert grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and graduated from Louisiana State University.
She and husband have lived in various cities across the country and landed in Houston six years ago, in her focus area.
Prior to real estate she worked as a graphic artist and marketing specialist for a large commercial real estate company, and in the same position for a brokerage team, where she obtained her real estate license.
“In my previous positions, I marketed real estate properties with brochures, signs, and websites. These are the skills needed to get properties sold. I am always embracing new technology, including social media to market homes, and thinking of new ways to put the houses in front of the buyers,” Markert said.
When Markert and her husband moved to Houston, she went into residential real estate.
“I love marketing and I love real estate. I love helping both my buyers and sellers, and doing my best for them,” Markert said.
She is an award-winning Realtor, and a member of the Martha Turner Sotheby’s Circle of Excellence. She also holds the Military Relocation Specialist certification and the Accredited Buyer Representative designation.
