TC Line: Have a Sense of Humor
My call is in response to the caller who called his response to “Leaf pickup.” The original one was in Wednesday’s TC Line, and the gentleman made a joke about how his leaves blow into his neighbor’s yard (and) his neighbor picks them up. This caller took offense and said be responsible and do your share on leaf pick up and I’m glad you’re not my neighbor. That’s what’s wrong with this world. Someone tries to have a little fun, and someone takes it the wrong way. We need to have a sense of humor.
Wow! A lot of anti-Democrat comments in the TC Line since the elections. Don’t worry, Republicans. It will be OK. By the way, now you know how we, the Democrats, have been feeling the last two years. Have a great day.
Where’s the news?
I’m just curious as to why there hasn’t been any media update on the airport situation, where the man was left to lie in the field for a day and a half. Certainly, something must be going on about that. And there’s been no news about the fire in Weld County, the oil tanks that blew up. Why isn’t this in the news, or why aren’t we being kept up to date on this?
Editor’s note: According to our Oct. 25 article about the skydiving death , “A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration, the lead agency investigating the incident, said that investigations can take ‘many weeks to many months’ and that the Times-Call should check for an update in 30 days.” Wednesday’s fire in Weld County, which consumed 3,000 gallons of diesel fuel, was contained by firefighters, and there were no injuries. No oil tanks blew up.
I just heard on the news where authorities are alarmed and concerned because the worldwide female fertility rate is down. Someone please explain to me how this is a problem.
Does it matter?
This is in response to the person who was a little confused about the excitement over Polis being the first openly gay governor. The person ends with, “but I find it somewhat misleading that he didn’t make it part of his campaign.” Well, did Stapleton make his heterosexuality part of his campaign? Should a person’s sexuality be part of their campaign? Does it matter what someone does in the bedroom? Just a thought.
Disservice to readers
I would like to encourage the Times-Call to go outside the box and provide a more balanced and diverse choice in their opinion column. It is blatantly obvious that if you regularly choose the offerings of the Washington Post, you’re going to get a very negative perspective of the leadership of our country. These people are obviously unable to appreciate the great things that are going on and someone that it is turning out to be the best president we have had in my lifetime of 70 years. Providing only one perspective, and a negative one at that, is doing a disservice to your readers.
