Slade, Parsons called into All Blacks squad
WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — Uncapped hooker James Parsons and utility back Colin Slade have been called into the All Blacks squad touring Britain as injury replacements.
Both players were in Britain after playing for the Barbarians against Australia last weekend and have been called up as replacements for injured hooker Nathan Harris and winger Cory Jane.
Harris suffered an ankle injury and Jane a hamstring strain during New Zealand’s 74-6 win over the United States in Chicago.
Parsons joins Dane Coles and Keven Mealamu as the hookers in the touring squad while Slade provides cover at flyhalf, inside center and fullback.
New Zealand plays England at Twickenham on Saturday and Scotland and Wales over the next two weekends.
