Tickets range from $55 to $185 and go on sale at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. EST) Friday, Sept. 21 at agtvegas.com, or call the box office at (702) 777-2782 or (855) 234-7469.
Duo Transcend’s bid to become the “America’s Got Talent” winner ended Wednesday night during the drama-filled finale show. Duo Transcend, which has been performing professionally for seven years, was competing against a range of acts, from comedians and musicians to magicians, dancers and singers.
Duo Transcend is Salt Lake City, Utah-based couple Tyce Nielsen and his wife, Mary Ellen Wolfe-Nielsen, who is the daughter of former Huntington Mayor and former Cabell County Sheriff Kim Wolfe and his wife, regional actress Debbie Wolfe. Mary Ellen was trying to become the second West Virginia native to win “America’s Got Talent.” Logan County native and resident Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., who is still touring the country as a throwback R&B and jazz-based classic crooner, won the show in 2011. In an Instagram video message backstage to their fans, Tyce and Mary Ellen thanked everyone for what has been an unforgettable journey. “This has been the craziest journey for us, and we just want you all to know that we are so thankful for America and all of our fans who supported us,” Tyce said with Mary Ellen by his side. “We are in such a good place in our hearts and minds, and we developed relationships with all nine of those acts. We will be so happy to see whoever wins that show. They all deserve it.”
The 10 finalists were singers Courtney Hadwin, Daniel Emmet, Glennis Grace and Michael Ketterer. Comedians were Samuel J. Comroe and Vicki Barbolak. Shin Lim performs card tricks and magic. Brian King Joseph is an electric violinist and Zurcaroh is a dance group.
Tuesday and Wednesday’s shows took place in front of a live audience at the 3,400-seat Dolby Theatre in Hollywood as well as an estimated audience of about 14 million people who were watching at home. Last season’s finale show drew 14.3 million TV viewers.
The winner of “America’s Got Talent” was the magician Shin Lim.
During the Season 13 run, Duo Transcend was a favorite among viewers and the judges throughout the competition, which included a total of five nationally televised performances, each a different routine that had to be made up in the space between the shows.
During Tuesday night’s performance, the couple turned up the heat with a group of drummers pounding out a rhythm in front of an LED-lit volcanic video backdrop while Tyce did the entire routine blindfolded. In a reverse twist of their infamous drop on the Judge’s Cut show in July, the couple ended their performance with Mary Ellen climbing above Tyce and then dropping him (on purpose) onto the floor below.
Following AGT, they were flying to Reno, Nevada, where they begin a six-weeks of shows.
