Officials investigate death of prerelease walkaway
HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Montana authorities say a 30-year-old who walked away from a prerelease center in Helena has been found dead.
The Independent Record reports that Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton says Devin Shea Deaton was found dead Wednesday at a hotel in Helena.
Dutton says the death is considered suspicious and the cause and manner are under investigation.
Deaton was sentenced for criminal possession of dangerous drugs in 2017 and had been staying at the Helena Prerelease Center when he went missing Wednesday.
