PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ An ex-convict was arrested Tuesday in connection with five bank robberies that occurred two months after he was released from prison in September, the FBI announced.

John Milewski, 39, no address, had completed three years in prison for a bank robbery conviction, said FBI spokeswoman Linda Vizi.

He was arrested by FBI agents and police following leads that came from the banks' surveillance cameras, said FBI spokeswoman Linda Vizi. Milewski was scheduled to be arraigned late Tuesday afternoon, she said.

All of the bank robberies Milewski is being charged with occurred in a span between Nov. 7 and Nov. 18. Branches of Corestates First Pennsylvania, First Federal Savings and First Bank of Philadelphia were victims, as were two branches of the Bank & Trust Co. of Old York Road.

The FBI declined to give out how much money was involved in the robberies.
