Principal Accused in Murder For Hire Pleads Guilty to Sex Charges
LEBANON, Ohio (AP) _ A high school principal once accused in a murder for hire plot pleaded guilty Monday to sexually molesting his former stepson.
Clarence Wilkinson was charged with gross sexual imposition for allegedly using force to sexually abuse Brian Schuh, 18, five years ago, prosecutors said. Schuh is the son of Wilkinson’s ex-wife, Melissa Frances. Schuh has spoken out about his ordeal.
In a plea bargain, prosecutors dropped nine other charges against him.
Wilkinson, 44, also had been accused in what police said was an aborted plot in which he and Frances hired the same hit man to kill each other. Police said the sexual abuse prompted the scheme.
Last week, the city dropped a misdemeanor charge of inducing panic against Wilkinson in the alleged scheme. Officials cited a lack of evidence.
Frances pleaded guilty to the same charge and was released on probation May 5 after 10 weeks in jail.
Wilkinson resigned effective June 30 as principal of Franklin High School in Franklin.
He faces a maximum sentence of 4 1/2 years in prison and a $7,500 fine.
