ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Lord Nelson won the $100,000 Speakeasy Stakes for 2-year-olds by 6¾ lengths on Monday at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Martin Garcia, Lord Nelson ran six furlongs in 1:09.25 and paid $3.60, $2.80 and $2.20 as the 4-5 favorite.

Sebastian's Heart returned $9 and $3.80 at 18-1 odds, while Story to Tell was another 1¾ lengths back in third and paid $3.60 to show.

Lord Nelson broke sharply from the far outside and took command midway around the turn.

"The horse has been working well and he'll be developing as he gets older," Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert said.

The $60,000 victory increased Lord Nelson's career earnings to $123,000, with two wins in three starts.
