STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) _ Ingvar Johansson, a pianist who played with some of jazz's biggest names before losing his right hand in an accident, has died at age 67.

Johansson died in his hometown of Oestersund, 250 miles northwest of Stockholm, the Swedish news agency TT reported Tuesday. It did not give the date or cause of death.

In the 1960s and '70s, Johansson played with jazz giants including Sonny Rollins, Stan Getz and Dexter Gordon. His renown grew and he got offers to join groups in Stockholm, but he chose to stay in Oestersund.

After losing his hand in the accident, Johansson learned to play trombone.
