West Indies wins toss, elects to bat

KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent (AP) — West Indies captain Darren Sammy won the toss on Saturday and elected to bat first against Pakistan in the first Twenty20 International.

Middle-order left-handed batsman Umar Amin and left-arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar will be playing their first T20s for Pakistan while 25-year-old Trinidad fast bowler Shannon Gabriel will be making his debut for the West Indies.

Pakistan won the one-day series 3-1.



West Indies: Darren Sammy (captain), Chris Gayle, Johnson Charles, Marlon Samuels, Lendl Simmons, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine, Samuel Badree, Tino Best, Shannon Gabriel.

Pakistan: Mohammad Hafeez (captain), Nasir Jamshed, Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Amin, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Hammad Azam, Zulfiqar Babar, Saeed Ajmal, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Irfan.
