CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) — Eastern Illinois says it has added Luke Piotrowski (PEE'-oh-trow-skee) to its roster after the 6-11 center transferred from Richmond.

EIU coach Jay Spoonhour said in a news release Monday that Piotrowski joins his older brother, fellow center and transfer Mat Piotrowski, on the Panther roster.

Luke Piotrowski played in six games as a redshirt freshman last season at Richmond. Under NCAA rules he will have to sit out a season.

Mat Piotrowski transferred to EIU earlier this year from Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville. He previously spent a season at Boston University.

Spoonhour said Luke Piotrowski has speed and skills that allow him to play more like a forward. The coach said the older Piotrowski is a bulkier lane presence.
