Pikeville tops Raceland 38-19 in state semifinals

PIKEVILLE, Ky. - Pikeville raced to a 24-0 halftime lead and rolled to a 38-19 victory over Raceland Friday in the Kentucky Class A high school football semifinals. Tanner Hamilton started the scoring with a 21-yard field goal.

Jackson Hensley then hit Christian Billeter with a 31-yard touchdown pass with 1:50 left in the first quarter and 1:02 later, Billeter returned an interception 55 yards for a TD. Conner Roberts threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Hensley to make it 24-0.

The Rams broke up the shutout when Gunnar Lewis returned the opening kickoff of the second half 89 yards for a touchdown, but Raceland couldn’t pull closer than within 24-12.

The Panthers rushed for 315 yards on 45 carries and passed for 90 yards, completing 10 of 14 attempts. Raceland ran for just 112 yards and threw for 66.
