3 killed in shooting at Mexican soccer match
MEXICO CITY (AP) — Prosecutors say three men are dead after two gunmen shot them at close range while they were watching a soccer match in western Mexico.
The prosecutor’s office in the western state of Michoacan says the gunmen didn’t say a word before riddling the victims with bullets.
The victims were watching a local, non-league match in the grandstands of a rural soccer field.
Another spectator was wounded in Sunday’s attack, in which pistols were apparently used.
Michoacan has been the scene of battles between a local drug cartel and vigilante forces fighting the gang.
But the attack occurred in Paracho, a town where the vigilantes have not been very active.
