Caldwell Chapel AME Zion Church

Caldwell Chapel AME Zion Church, at 805 N. Evergreen Ave. in Kankakee, will have its Watch Day Service from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The featured guests are: Elder Carl Randle, of Fair Haven C.O.G.I.C., Kankakee; and Elder Ryan McNeil, of New Jerusalem Seventh Day Adventist Church, Bradley.

Communion will be offered. The host pastor is the Rev. Lori K. Holmes.

Coal City UMC to host soup supper

Coal City United Methodist Church, at 6805 E. McArdle Road in Coal City, is hosting its January “Hallelujah” Soup Supper from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 5.

Cheesy potato soup and chili will be served. Each meal includes a choice of soup, a sandwich, crackers, a beverage, ice cream and dessert. Carryouts are available. The cost is $8 for adults and children age 13 and older; $4 for children ages 6-12; $2 for children ages 3-5; and children 2 and younger eat free.

All proceeds will go to the church’s building fund. Tickets will be sold at the door.
