Man faces charges in motorcycle fatal hit and run
SENECA, S.C. (AP) — A man has been arrested in a fatal hit and run involving a motorcycle in South Carolina.
Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Joe Hovis told news outlets that 21-year-old Anthony Brian Ward was arrested Saturday and charged with leaving the scene with death and reckless homicide.
Troopers say 68-year-old Larry Junior Starnes of Townville was riding a motorcycle late Thursday morning when he was hit from behind by a pickup truck. He was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he died several hours later.
Ward is being held in the Oconee County jail. It was not known if he has an attorney yet. Ward is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 7.
