Ashley Officials: Municipal Taxes Won’t Go Up In 2019

November 29, 2018

ASHLEY — Ashley residents won’t pay more in municipal taxes next year, borough officials said Wednesday.

Borough council has passed two readings of a 2019 budget that doesn’t raise taxes or garbage fees. A final vote is scheduled for Dec. 11.

The millage rate will remain 4.85 mills.

A mill is a $1 tax on every $1,000 of assessed property. Under the rate, an Ashley property assessed at $100,000 will owe $485 in local property taxes in 2018.

The budget is the fourth year Ashley has kept its property tax rate unchanged, said council President John P. Gibbons.
