Lincoln Southwest graduate Isaac Armstrong becomes Nebraska’s new No. 1 punter

October 8, 2018

Isaac Armstrong, a walk-on from Lincoln Southwest, is Nebraska’s new No. 1 punter on this week’s depth chart.

Armstrong replaced previous starter Caleb Lightbourn, who had two punts for an average of 29.5 yards in NU’s 41-24 loss to Wisconsin. Armstrong’s two punts averaged 53.5 yards. There were the first punts of Armstrong’s career. He joined the program in 2016 and has backed up Lightbourn, a scholarship player, since then.

He remains the team’s No. 1 holder on field goals and extra points.
