BOSTON (AP) _ The Boston Bruins assigned nine players to their American Hockey League affiliate and released three other players on Sunday.

Assigned to Providence were defensemen Rich Brennan, Chris Kelleher and Zdnek Kutlak, and forwards Mike Gellard, Lee Goren, Matt Herr, Steve Parsons, Martin Samuelsson and Kris Vernarsky.

Released were forwards Sam Ftorek and Brendan Yarema and defenseman Rich Spiller. Ftorek is the son of Bruins coach Robbie Ftorek.

The moves leave 32 players remaining on the Bruins' training camp roster. The team must cut its roster to 23 players for the regular season.
