BOSTON (AP) — U.S. Sen. William "Mo" Cowan is hosting a round-table discussion on what he says are the threats to small businesses posed by recent, across-the-board federal spending cuts.

Cowan plans to hold the discussion after touring the Roxbury Technology Corporation in Boston on Friday morning.

Cowan is planning to meet with company president Beth Williams, district director for the Small Business Administration Robert Nelson and Richard Pelligrini, Boston Regional Director for the state office of business development.

Earlier in the day, Cowan is scheduled to visit the Dancing Deer Baking Company in Boston to highlight the need for continued federal support and overall importance to job creation and the Massachusetts economy.

Cowan and other Democrats have argued the $85 billion in cuts is harming the economy.
