Redding Elementary School goes international
Redding Elementary School held its International Festival on Saturday. The event is run by the school’s parent teacher association.
This year’s theme was “One Town, Many Stories” and featured tables, manned by parents and students, that share food and facts for particular countries.
The event was expected to include four new cultural performances this year, including Ginga Brasiliera performing dances of Brazil, Kahana Hulu demonstrating Hawaiian dance, Li Liu showcasing interactive Chinese acrobatics and Sirius Coyote playing traditional and folk music of Las Americas.
“This is the first year the festival has offered so many performances, and it’s been made possible through the support, in both fundraising and membership, of the Redding Elementary School community,” organizers said in a news release.
