Water main break shuts down streets in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A break in a water main flooded streets Wednesday night in the Tremont area, according to reports.

WOIO Channel 19 reports Clark Avenue was closed between West 12th and West 16th streets, and West 14th Street is closed between Buher and Castle avenues.

Crews with the Cleveland Water Department were on the scene at 10:45 p.m. Some homes in the area reportedly had lost water service because of the break.

WJW Channel 8 reports the water department has been dealing with dozens of water line breaks over the past few days because of the extremely cold weather.

The temperature in Cleveland at 10:45 p.m. was -1 with a wind chill of -25, according to the National Weather Service.
