Ruth V. Kuhl

OSHKOSH -- Ruth V. Kuhl, 94, died peacefully at her home on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 2, 1924, in Waterloo, the daughter of the late Bernard and Mildred (Meitner) Schroeder. In 1942 she graduated from the Waterloo High School.

Ruth married Merrill Kuhl on Sept. 21, 1946. He died on April 26, 2018.

She had worked as a registered nurse at the former Methodist Hospital in Madison, which is currently Meriter Hospital. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lake Mills.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl (Bob) Yocum of Sauk City, Terri (Lance) Zernzach of Oshkosh; four grandchildren, Sandi (Jake) Zernzach Schertz, Cindi (Eric) Zernzach Mathe, Candi (Michael) Zernzach Beckett, Michael (Jennifer) Zernzach; 11 great-grandchildren, Riley, Kyleigh, Carter, Wyatt, Chloe, Charlie, Brielle, Brandon, Kenzie, Landon, Bradley; one brother, Jerome “Butch” Behm; one brother-in-law, Harlow Kuhl; five sisters-in-law, Mary Behm, Shirley Schroeder, Betty Behm, Shirley Behm and Joyce Kuhl; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Bader and Arlene Heiman, and six brothers, William Behm, Lester Schroeder, Howard Behm, Gerald Behm, Kenneth Behm and Robert “Bud” Schroeder.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lake Mills. Friends may call after noon on Wednesday at the church until the time of services. Burial will be in the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Lake Mills.

If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the Rev. John Dorn at Living Water Church in Oshkosh or St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran School of Lake Mills.
