Westford Adds to Its Win Total

The Westford Academy wrestling team posted wins over Whittier Tech, 57-24, and Tewksbury, 54-30, to improve its record to 15-2 overall on Saturday.

Double-winners for the Grey Ghosts were Jack Quaranto (106 pounds, 2 pins), Ryan Walsh (120, 1 pin), Rory Sullivan (152, 1 pin), Will Rudiman (170, pin), Jake Morash (195/182, 2 pins) and Adam Selman (220, 2 pins).

Nashoba Tech

Nashoba Tech beat Cambridge Rindge & Latin, 24-18, and lost to Billerica, 24-12, Excel Academy, 42-25, and Swampscott, 42-12, on Saturday.

Jason Mendonca and DJ Fraser each went 4-0 on the day for the Vikings. Kenny Keins won three times.

Shawsheen Tech

Shawsheen Tech posted wins over Pinkerton Academy, 47-33, Keene, N.H., 39-17, and Windham, N.H., and lost to Springfield Central, 51-24.

In the latest MassWrestling team ratings Springfield Central was the No. 1 ranked team in the state and Shawsheen was ranked second.

Austin Dube (113), Frank Foti (120), Brian Caldwell (132) and Omar Eldaly (220) notched four wins each for the Rams (21-3).

Dracut

Dracut posted wins over North Andover, 50-20, and Danvers, 50-24, and tied Chelmsford, 36-36, at a quad meet.

Adil Njikam, Allyn French, Justin Bettencourt, Ty Stewart and Calvin Desmarais won three matches each for the Middies.

Burlington

Burlington tied Arlington, 36-36, and lost to Masconomet, 48-30, and Dedham, 45-36, at a quad meet that was held on Friday.

Cam Soda (113) and Ryan McGillivray (132) won three matches each for the Red Devils (4-8-2).

Chelmsford

The Lions defeated Danvers, 49-26, tied Dracut, 36-36, and lost to North Andover, 41-29, at a quad meet.

Triple winners for Chelmsford were Zach Reynolds (138, 1 pin), Evan Goodall (145, 2 pins), Devon Giannino (152, 2 pins) and Aiden Ahern (195).

Tewksbury

Tewksbury lost to St. John’s Prep, 66-12, Westford, 54-30, and Whittier Tech, 42-27, at a quad meet.

Connor Charron (126, 3 pins) and Dylan Chandler (285, 3 pins) won three matches each.

Jake Garland pinned down two wins at 145.

Richie Lavargna (132), Cam Cimmino (138) and Nick Wilson (220) each won a match by pin for the Redmen (3-14). Adam Donovan won a match at 106.

Lowell

Lowell beat Greater Lowell, 43-36, and lost to Concord, N.H., 53-15, and Coventry, R.I., 51-30.

Brock Pare (152, 2 pins) and Aaron Diaz (195, 2 pins) won three matches each for the Red Raiders.

Double winners for Lowell were Andrew Phal (2 pins) and Brian Tur (1 pin).
