Friday traffic stop nets wanted criminal
Two people are behind bars today after a traffic stop Friday night, one of them a wanted criminal.
Fort Wayne police had been searching for Franklin Wright, 27, who had three warrants out for his arrest, a statement from police said.
It said officers saw Wright in the passenger seat of a car Friday night just after 10 p.m. at East Sherwood Terrace and Lafayette Street.
When Wright was questioned, he provided false identification.
The driver, Kierra Barr, 20, aided in covering up Wright’s identity, police said.
Wright was charged with probation violation : felony carrying a handgun without a license : resisting law enforcement and driving while suspended.
Barr was charged with dealing in heroin, possession of synthetic marijuana, possession of ecstacy and assisting a criminal.
