Sterling students treated to an Ice capade

April 9, 2019

Students at the Whiteside Area Career Center in Sterling learned about a military dog’s life Tuesday when some special guests stopped by to teach them about the various duties MWDs (military working dogs) perform. The four-legged soldier, named Ice, was accompanied by Army Sgt. Kloeckl and Spc. Patterson, from Fort Leavenworth in Kansas. Ice and his handlers demonstrated the dog’s capabilities, including how he detects, and takes down, threats.
