BOULDER, Colo. (AP) _ A late 7-0 run followed by Russ Caton’s two free throws gave Southern Utah an 82-80 overtime victory over Colorado Tuesday night as the Buffs went down to their sixth straight loss.

Colorado (5-9) also was playing under the cloud of Buffs coach Joe Harrington announcing his immediate resignation just before game time.

The game had been tied 44-44 at the half.

Colorado’s Chauncey Billups sent the game into overtime, tied 75-75, with his basket at the end of regulation.

Billups then made a 3-pointer with 3:50 remaining in overtime to give Colorado its final lead, 78-75.

Southern Utah (9-7) then went on a 4-0 run, keyed by two free throws and a basket by Jim Crosbie, to take a 79-78 lead with 54 seconds remaining.

Reggie Ingram added a free throw to stretch the lead to 80-78 and Caton sank his two free throws for the 82-78 margin.

Colorado’s Mack Daniel hit a basket with .5 seconds left to make it 82-80.

Southern Utah sent the ball inbounds for a last time and Colorado stole it, but Ted Kritza missed the shot under the basket at the buzzer that would have tied it.

Ingram led Southern Utah with 30 points, followed by Crosbie’s 15, while Jon Gaines, Russ Caton and Don Faux each scored 12.

Billups led Colorado with 30 points, followed by Mack Tuck’s 16 while Kritza and Martice Moore each scored 12.
