CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (AP) _ Roger Workman used a 224 average over his last eight games Wednesday to grab the second-round lead of the Professional Bowlers Association's Albany Senior Open.

Workman, of Kenova, W.Va., had a high game of 266 during the round en route to a 4,110 pinfall total. He started the second round in eighth. Workman, 54, is seeking his first senior title. His best finish has been sixth last year at Naples, Fla.

First-round leader John Woessner slipped to second with 4,097 pins. His downfall came in the last game of the second round when he rolled a 186 game. Woessner, from Euless, Texas, is also seeking his first top-five finish.

John Handegard moved into third with 4,080 pins, followed by Gus Lampo with 4,073 and Ron Winger with 4,068.

The top 24 scorers move into match play Thursday and Friday before the leading five advance to the finals Friday night. The winner will make $8,000.
