August 4, 2018

The 2018 Relay For Life of Rock River kicks off today at the Watertown High School track with opening ceremonies at 5 p.m.

Throughout the event, relay teams will walk laps around the track and have their camp sites decorated to match the 2018 relay theme, “Super Heroes.”

Today’s events also include a survivor and sponsor ceremony at 7 p.m., featuring honorary cancer survivor Tammy Dowling, and a luminaria ceremony at 10 p.m. to honor cancer survivors, those who have lost their battles with cancer as well as caregivers.

The relay will go through the night and conclude Saturday with a closing ceremony at 11 a.m.

Relay For Life raises funds for the American Cancer Society and recognizes former and present cancer patients and caregivers.
