Tougaloo 88, Alcorn St. 85, OT

LORMAN, Miss. (AP) _ Columbus Bentley scored 27 points, including two free throws with 13 seconds left in overtime Saturday night, as NAIA Tougaloo beat a Southwestern Athletic Conference opponent for the second time in a week, 88-85 at Alcorn State.

Tougaloo (6-3) scored 12 of its 15 overtime points from the free throw line. Milton Clark’s free throw made it 88-85 with five seconds left before Reuben Stiff missed on a desperation 3-point try as time ran out for Alcorn (1-3).

Stiff’s two free throws with 10 seconds left in regulation made it 73-73 and forced the extra five-minute period. Carl Wilkes 3-pointer seven seconds earlier had put Tougaloo ahead 73-71.

DeJuan Clark added 14 points for Tougaloo, which won at Grambling State on Tuesday night. Wilkes had 11 point and Antonio Ducksworth had 10. Bentley also led Tougaloo with 12 rebounds.

Terrance Cameron and Fred Wade each scored 14 points off the bench, leading five Alcorn players in double-figures. Edderick Wheaton and Chelonzo Miller each added 13 points while Stiff had 11.
