COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) _ Shot putter Marcus Clavelle, who finished third at the U.S. Open track meet, was suspended for two years after testing positive for steroids.
Clavelle, who also competes in the discus, tested positive for methandienone during the June 8 meet in Stanford, Calif., the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency said Wednesday. Anabolic steroids are banned by the IAAF, track and field’s governing body.
Clavelle, whose suspension began Aug. 23, was also disqualified from events he competed in after the positive test.
