Norfolk Iron and Metal finalizes purchase of Metalwest
NORFOLK - Norfolk Iron and Metal finalized its purchase Wednesday of O’Neal Flat Rolled Metals, a subsidiary of O’Neal Industries.
Chief Operating Officer for Norfolk Iron and Metal Arnie Robinson says O’Neal Flat Rolled Metals will return to its former name, Metalwest and keep all management team members in their current roles with Jeff Simons continuing as president and CEO.
Robinson says one thing that really attracted them to buy Metalwest was the people they have throughout the whole company.
“From the guys loading the trailers to the management team that we’ve spent a lot of time with we’re really impressed with the people they have. We had an opportunity to bring in people with like mindedness to us and a group of people that value doing it the right way for their customers.”
Robinson says the acquisition will enhance Norfolk Iron’s geographic footprint by adding eight new locations, while also expanding its product lines and capabilities for processing flat rolled carbon, stainless and aluminum products.
