SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is in Puerto Rico for an annual conference aimed at attracting wealthy U.S. investors to the island.

Giuliani spoke Thursday at the Investment Summit in San Juan where more than 200 people gathered to hear about the U.S. territory's tax incentives.

He praised Puerto Rico for reducing violent crime and making popular tourist districts safer. Giuliani also urged the Puerto Rico government to revitalize historic Old San Juan and to maintain security and cleanliness elsewhere in the capital.

He declined to speak with reporters after his speech.
