Market Street’s spring concert series to kick off April 11
Spring has sprung at Market Street. Officials with the shopping center on Monday announced its spring concert lineup, featuring jams by area bands every Thursday from April 11 through June 6.
The series comes after renovations forced Market Street to cancel its fall concerts, leaving Central Park quiet for almost a year.
“We’re so excited to be back,” said Marketing Director Noemi Gonzalez. “It’s unusual for us to go so long without having concerts.”
The lineup includes fan favorites — classic rock band Nobody’s Fool, jazz and R&B band the David Caceres Quintet and blues and rocker Hamilton Loomis — and newcomer cover band Chinatown.
Chinatown’s set on April 25 will double as a completion of renovations party, Gonzalez said, complete with food trucks and activities for the whole family.
“The center never closed,” Gonzalez said. “But this is going to be like a concert on steroids.”
Guests are invited to bring their lawn chairs and picnics to Market Street’s spring concert series every Thursday from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
