WASHINGTON (AP) _ The congressional Iran-Contra committees have been reluctant to identify in public the precise identities of certain countries linked to private aid for Nicaragua's Contra rebels or to other sensitive matters discussed in testimony at the hearings.

Instead, they have hidden the identies behind a verbal curtain, referring to them only as Country One, Country Two, Country Three and so on.

The list now goes up to Country Ten.

Six of the countries have been identified by sources. They are:

Country One: Israel.

Country Two: Saudi Arabia.

Country Three: Taiwan.

Country Four: China.

Country Five: South Korea.

Country Six: South Africa.

Countries Seven through Ten have yet to be reliably identified.
