Commissioners put off vote on Union Chapel housing project
The Allen County Commissioners on Friday deferred voting on a rezoning petition for a 150-lot single-family development on the north side of Union Chapel Road.
The rezoning would convert 97 acres of land in the 6000 to 6200 blocks of Union Chapel from its current agricultural classification to single-family residential.
Commissioner Nelson Peters asked that the vote be deferred because the planned development has drawn concerns from neighbors. Because of the nature of the project, Peters said, it’s important that all three commissioners be present for the vote. Commissioner Linda Bloom was absent.
