Shawsheen Student Named U.S. Presidential Scholar
BILLERICA — Megan Brown has known since middle school that she wanted to work in medicine.
As a student at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School, she worked towards that goal through the school’s Health Assisting program. Now a graduating senior, Brown’s hard work has earned her a distinguished award.
This month Brown was named a 2019 U.S. Presidential Scholar. She is one of just 161 students across the country to be named U.S. Presidential Scholars and is the only Career and Technical Education (CTE) student in the state to receive the honor. Only 20 CTE students across the country were named Presidential Scholars.
