Common Bond Cafe & Bakery signs on in Springwoods Village
Common Bond Cafe & Bakery has leased 4,289 square feet, with a patio, on the ground floor of the CityPlace 1 building at 1401 Lake Plaza Drive in Springwoods Village. Opening is planned in the first quarter of 2020. The restaurant, owned by Houston entrepreneur George Joseph, was represented by Alan Chodrow and Shane Karstendiek of Chodrow Realty Advisors. Nick Hernandez and Crystal Allen of Transwestern, along with Dennis Tarro of Patrinely Group, represented CityPlace, a joint venture of Patrinely Group, USAA Real Estate and CDC Houston.
The Houston-based restaurant, which made its debut in Montrose in 2014, recently opened at 2278 W. Holcombe at Greenbriar near the Texas Medical Center. Common Bond Cafe CityPlace will serve weekday breakfast, weekday lunch and dinner, as well as weekend brunch and dinner.
Tecovas, a maker of affordable handmade leather boots and accessories, has signed a lease for 3,500 square feet at 2400 University Blvd. in Rice Village for its entry into the Houston market. The traditionally online retailer opened its first brick-and-mortar store in Austin. Mark Raines and Matt Parsons of JLL represented the tenant.
Vraj Shah and Shivam Thakkar have opened Jianna Jewelers in a 1,400-square-foot space at Kirby Collection, 3300 Kirby Drive, Suite 5A. Founded in 1986 in Mumbai, India, the family-owned business, which touts ethically-sourced gemstones, has exclusive partnerships with five jewelry stores and supplies multiple retailers across the globe. The store, which sells handcrafted pieces ranging from engagement rings and wedding bands to bracelets, necklaces and earrings, is the first retail location for the brand. Kirby Collection is a mixed-use development of Thor Equities south of the River Oaks neighborhood in the Upper Kirby area.
Hobby Lobby has leased 47,768 square feet in Fairway Center at Fairmont Parkway and Beltway 8 in Pasadena. Debbie Adams of Edge Realty Partners represented the landlord, Balough Family Holdings. Scott Shillings of Riverway Retail represented the tenant.
Parkway Brothers Investment has purchased Copper Lakes Shopping Center, two-building project with 16,080 square feet of retail and 7,000 square feet of office space at the southwest corner of West Road and Queenston Boulevard. Austen Baldridge and Brad Elmore of NewQuest Properties represented the seller, BCTS Partners. Andy Hsu of AA Realty Co. represented the buyer. BCTS Partners developed the project in 2007.
AYG Ella has purchased a 3,570-square-foot restaurant building on a little more than half an acre at 3008 Ella Blvd. Austen Baldridge and Bob Conwell of NewQuest Properties represented the seller, Morrow Holding Co. Chris Reyes of Shop Cos. represented the buyer.
