PITTSBURGH (AP) _ The Tampa Bay Devil Rays recalled right-hander Franklin Nunez from Triple-A Durham on Sunday and placed right-hander Jesus Colome on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 10.

The pitching move came a day after an 18-2 loss to Pittsburgh, the sixth time since May 29 the Devil Rays have given up 10 or more runs.

Colome, who has right shoulder inflammation, allowed nine runs and nine hits in 1 1-3 innings Thursday in a 14-5 loss to Cincinnati.

Nunez began the season on the disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis before being reinstated and optioned to Durham on May 28. He was 2-0 with a 1.23 ERA in six games there.

The 28-year-old Nunez was 0-3 with a 5.91 ERA in eight games with Tampa Bay last season, his first in the majors.
