Okonoboh asks for release from UNLV
LAS VEGAS (AP) — UNLV coach Dave Rice said Friday that sophomore forward Goodluck Okonoboh is leaving the program and will be granted his release.
“We appreciate all that Goodluck has done for our program,” Rice said. “We wish him the best in the future.”
Okonoboh appeared in all six of UNLV’s games this season, starting two. He averaged 3.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 15.2 minutes.
Okonoboh is UNLV’s 11th transfer in Rice’s five seasons at the helm.
The Runnin’ Rebels (5-1) are coming off a win over No. 13 Indiana on Wednesday in the Maui Invitational. UNLV hosts Prairie View A&M on Saturday night.
